This small courtyard garden Design Chelsea SW3 has a cosy rustic , traditional feel with a splash of the Medetiteranean.This garden packs a lot in so careful space planing and Designing was required .My client loves to socialises and to throw a party so creating a functional and well designed space was the challenge. The large in built bespoke seating caterers for a good crowd and gets people to the centre of the garden creating and atmosphere.It also allows very relaxed lounging . Get the big cushions out and a bottle of Chablis ! Into the stricture of the seat we build a bespoke Designed water feature with the basin as part of the seat its self. The hand beaten pewter roman face acts as a water wall. Behind the seat we designed in some bed spaces giving a lush back drop to the garden, softening and colouring the space .

The we designed and built a curved staircase leading down to the basement level with inbuilt storage under the the Mezzanine level steps. Th eloper courtyard as the terrace above laid with a Riven York stone paving .

We introduced a painted render to the seat form structure and walls to lighten the space and to bring in that Mediterranean feel. other wise all brick i feel would have been to heavy and traditional and in this small space not what we wanted to achieve.

The duality of the space, with a smaller table can be used on a day to day basis , to be opened up as required for bigger occasions.
