Alleyn Park West Dulwich SE21
This was very much a strategic project on a budget and doing the things that really had to be done. The large central lawn being the jewel in the crown, giving the large garden a very lush vibe. Garden design isnt always about Chelsea show gardens and shouldn’t be about designer egos. Big gardens like this can be very expensive to just revamp re working the already defined spaces and augmenting, creating easier access to the lawn, functional pathways, remedial works like drainage for the lawn and resurface old patios.
We used the lovely Heath Sawn Sandstone very similar to York stone but 40 % cheaper.
A lot of work went into this new ready rolled lawn due to drainage issues.
Ever edge lawn edging helping to keep that clean defined edge with minimal work.
The pathway to the shed and storage area we used a self-Compacting gravel as it’s a good cost saver and works well where good drainage is required.
The large planting bed at the bottom of the garden gives a nice focal point and interest softening the space.
I think the slightly contemporary clean lines work well with the 60s architecture.
